Lars is an elderly Swedish man who has chosen to spend his winters in solitude as a caretaker of the few hiking cabins by Sweden’s highest mountain, Kebnekaise. The film explores the inner and outer world of his stay at the cabin, and asks whether or not you can be happy without friends and loved ones to share your life with.

Johannes Östergard

Johannes Östergard was born in Hamburg 1983 and grew up in Finland. He majored in Media Studies and worked as a children's TV host before enrolling at Munich film school HFF. TARFALA is his graduating film.
