Brussels, Friday, 7 a.m.: Luna and Amine cross paths. She is 26, he is 17: two strangers in different stages of their lives. Together they walk through the city as it wakes up, sharing an intense, prolonged moment as they meet, argue, connect and go their separate ways.

Meet the director

A WALK

Elke Vanoost

Elke Vanoost is a filmmaker and photographer living in Brussels. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Arts at RITCS in 2013. In 2015, she obtained a master’s degree in film studies and visual culture at the University of Antwerp. An internship at the Brussel Deze Week newspaper led to a career as a freelance photographer. Her work, which is heavily focused on street photography in Brussels, has increasingly influenced her work as a filmmaker. Elke completed her master’s degree in audiovisual arts at Luca School of Arts (Brussels campus) in 2017. For her master’s, she directed CROISÉ.
