ARALKUM
The Aralkum is a desert created by the drying up of the Aral Sea on the border between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. First the water disappeared, then the animals; now only the people remain. They are confronted with a hostile environment, their lives permeated with a sense of loss.

Daniel Asadi Faezi, Mila Zhluktenko
Daniel Asadi Faezi, born in 1993, studied documentary film at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF) and at the National College of Arts in Lahore, Pakistan. His films have been screened at several film festivals, including Locarno, DOK Leipzig, Visions du Réel, and Ann Arbor. Daniel is also an alumnus of Berlinale Talents.
Mila Zhluktenko, born in Kyiv, Ukraine, in 1991, studied documentary film directing at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF). Her films have been screened at numerous film festivals, including IDFA, Visions du Réel, Camerimage, and MoMA, and have received several awards.
