SHIPS OUTSIDE MY WINDOW
What starts off as a look at the increasing challenges faced by the filmmaker’s father as a seafarer turns into an exploration of the liminal spaces created by mental illness and the struggle of a family caught in its crosshairs. The memories of the director’s parents serve as a reflection on the nature of memories and how a determined coming-to-terms with those memories shape one’s present-day preoccupations and positions.
