The world as we know it is coming to an end. On a secret military base on the Polish coast, scientists are conducting a strange experiment, transforming repeat offenders into animals whose species are endangered. Teenage Janek assists his mother, a veterinarian who decides when the animals can be released into the wild to restore their species. When Janek finds himself attracted to a young female captive named “U”, he decides to free her, believing they could have a future together. If only it weren’t the first summer of the end of the world.

Meet the director

Nastazja Gonera
Nastazja Gonera, born in Wrocław in 1990, studied screenwriting and directing at the Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź. She has written the scripts for several short films, music videos and documentaries, was a finalist in the Teren TR organizers’ competition at the Rozmaitości Theatre in Warsaw, and directed performative reading as the youngest participant in the International Digital Play Festival. She is currently working on her first full-length motion picture.
