Since the pandemic at least, video calls have become a permanent fixture in the way we communicate. They connect those who are unable to connect in any other way. In DEATH, DICTATE SILENCE, it is two Afghan siblings who converse with each other in this way across thousands of kilometers. The brother lives in Sweden, the sister in Iran. Living in two different cultures has, over time, caused them to grow apart. The recent death of their mother and painful memories of their childhood put even more distance between them.
