When Achat was seven years old, her parents sent her away from the Congo to be adopted in France. After her adoptive mother’s death, years of halfway ordinary life in Paris turned into a nightmare. The film is a journey through two continents and Achat’s memories, a search for her identity. Can it or should it ever be recovered?
