Panel – Rethinking the Future of Film Education
The world of film must always adapt to changing times, as the pandemic showed quite clearly in 2020 and 2021. To what extent must audiovisual education practices adapt to new production conditions and formats as well as to paradigm shifts in the market? Is the education offered at (inter)national film schools still in keeping with the times? What must film students be prepared to face in the coming years? What should be taught and how? The panel discussion “Rethinking the Future of Film Education” will address such questions. Egbert van Wyngaarden will deliver the keynote address, titled “Storytelling Futures”. Lecturers and professors from various universities who have made the journey to FILMSCHOOLFEST MUNICH will then discuss with the co-chair of the Feature Film Department at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF), Julia von Heinz, and the executive director of CILECT, Stanislav Semerdjiev, the future of instruction at film schools.
