Online: Go to the Webshop either directly or via a page offering details about one of the films. Search for the desired program. Click on the button that says “Tickets”. Log in with your customer number and the password you’ve chosen (unless you’ve just purchased the pass, in which case you’re already logged in). Place a ticket with the “Festival Pass 0.00 euros” discount in the shopping cart. For the payment method, leave the checkmark for credit card selected. Check the required boxes and order your print@home ticket(s).

Festival box office: At the festival box office, please show the booking confirmation for your festival pass (the PDF you received at the time of purchase). The friendly staff member at the box office will do the rest for you.

Films & Program

Each program includes four very different short films. Many directors and other members of the film teams have traveled to FILMSCHOOLFEST MUNICH from all over the world. They will come forward for a short Q&A after the screening of their film. You, the audience, can then ask questions about the film. After that, the next film will be shown.

This means that each program takes you on a little trip around the world, immerses you in a wide variety of subject matter, and introduces you to the makers of the films.

In order to allow you to experience the film in an authentic way, the films are always shown in their original language. Films are generally screened with English subtitles. Please consult the detailed page of the film you’re interested in for information on the language offered.

As a rule, no. The short student films from around the world have not been rated by the FSK and are therefore released automatically only for ages 18 and up, regardless of content.

However, school screenings will be held on Nov. 14, Nov. 16 and Nov. 17 at 9:30 am for school groups in grades 7 and up to attend. Register at tobias.obermeier@filmfest-muenchen.de

Yes. The festival flyer is available at the Festival Center and at various other locations in Munich. You can also download the flyer here.

Attending the festival

Admission to the auditorium starts 30 minutes before each screening.

No one will be admitted after the screening starts.

Yes! We are expecting lots of young filmmakers from around the world at the Filmschoolfest.

If members of the film team are present, it will of course be possible to ask questions.

Audience Award

YESSS! Be sure to vote for the Audience Award. This prize is very important to filmmakers.

Thanks to the generous support of the Freundeskreis Filmfest München, this year’s award is once again worth 1,500 euros — a big thank-you for that!

Voting is very easy (see the next question) and you are welcome to rate any film you have seen.

This year we will use the voting tool Votemo to determine the audience award winning film. For this you will find QR codes on the cinema screen and in the festival lounge, which you can scan and vote for the film right away. There is one code per film program, click through all the films and don't forget any when voting.

You can enter your email address to subscribe to our newsletter, but not to vote.
