Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS) – Australia
The Australian Film, Television and Radio School in Sydney has gone through many changes in its history. In 1973, what was then the Film and Television School (FTS) accepted its first students in the context of “transitional education”. In 1976, the school, then known as the Australian Film and Television School (AFTS), became a full member of CILECT, the International Association of Film and Television Schools. The school was last renamed in 1986, to the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS). The AFTRS offers a range of bachelor’s and master’s programs as well as part-time training in various fields. AFTRS graduates include Jane Campion, Alex Proyas, Andrew Lesnie, and Pip Karmel.
