Films, films, films
It's that time again: a wonderful festival doesn't work without an inspiring program. That's why FILMSCHOOLFEST MUNICH invites a new independent selection jury every year to view all the films submitted - hours of animated, documentary and feature films - and then discuss and decide together which ones will make up the program of the 43rd festival edition. They have just under a month to watch 368 films from 51 countries. An incredibly difficult task that takes up a lot of time. The entire festival team is very grateful to this year's selection jury for their commitment and is already looking forward to the results.
An absolute novelty at FILMSCHOOLFEST MUNICH this year is the DACH competition. In addition to the already established International Competition, films from Germany, Austria and Switzerland have an even better chance of winning a place in the program as well as selected festival prizes. And for such a new competition, you also need fresh eyes for the selection. For this reason, three young curators were sought for the first time to view the submissions. This will give young film enthusiasts the opportunity to get to know the work of film programming and cultural management, put together a short film program and moderate the screenings of the films during the festival week. The Filmschoolfest team is delighted to have found three dedicated members who will be viewing the almost 100 films submitted next month and putting together the first program for the DACH competition.
Here you can find out more about both juries and their members, who are currently in the middle of their main viewing phase. We would like to thank them both for their tireless efforts and the hours of work they put in.
