These are the winners of the prizes for the best clip on environmental protection and climate change

The Climate Clips Award is awarded

At FILMSCHOOLFEST MUNICH, prizes are already awarded at the opening. Since 2008, the Nagelschneider Foundation has presented the Climate Clips Award for young filmmakers. This year again, three clips were awarded prizes for their original approach to the topics of environmental protection and climate change.

Third place went to the 50-second clip TERRA ! / EARTH by Alice Gambara and Giulia Betti from the Civica Scuola die Cinema Lucchino Visconti in Italy. The animated film, which is part of the "Plastic not fantastic" campaign, convinced the jury because it impressively demonstrated “how our handling of plastic is becoming fatal — to humans as well as animals“.

Second place went to ZIZUMA by Sergio Alejandro N. Suárez of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogotá. In it, the fate of the revered sacred mountain of the indigenous Uwa people in Colombia is portrayed, and glacier extinction is addressed because of it. "this documentary reveals the present-day threat from climate change, of which an animation gives a warning and a call to action," the jury said, explaining its selection.

The first prize goes to FIGHT FAST FASHION by Miriam Welcker and Lili Zwirner. The clip denounces the climate-damaging production of the fashion industry. "This appeal for more restraint and conservation of natural resources is directed at all of us," according to the jury.

Congratulations to the winners! You can see the winning clips again on November 17 in program 6. Climate protection and the environment will continue to be a topic at FILMSCHOOLFEST. On November 19, the Nagelschneider Foundation will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a Climate Day at the festival. Panels and workshops that day will discuss, among other things, the future of climate protection and how the film industry can produce greener. You can register at info@stiftung-nagelschneider.de if you would like to participate in this day.
