For 25 years, ESCAC, a private university, has sought out and sponsored talented young filmmakers. The school is part of the University of Barcelona. During training, special emphasis is placed on practical classroom and team work. The school’s graduates include such well-known Spanish filmmakers as Juan Antonio Bayona, Javier Ruiz Caldera, Mar Coll, Laura Pedro, Elena Trapé, and Dani de la Orden.
