FILMSCHOOLFEST MUNICH 39 ½ - POSITIVE RESULTS

Friday, 12/18/2020

Having evaluated the numbers, FILMSCHOOLFEST MUNICH is pleased to announce that this year's online edition was very well received by the audience with over 10,000 views. Festival passes and individual tickets were used worldwide to stream the festival program with its approximately 60 student short films and their accompanying Q&As. However, the regular Munich audiences have also remained loyal to the festival. Another 1,200 viewers watched the free panels, the Opening and the Award Ceremony on the festival's website, on Vimeo and on social media. We also achieved extremely positive results on our social media channels, where specially generated short video trailers and mash-ups generated more than 140,000 video views.

"We would like to sincerely thank all viewers for their interest in FILMSCHOOLFEST 39 ½ and are delighted with the great response," says festival director Diana Iljine, emphasizing that the festival would definitely like to celebrate its 40th birthday 2021 in the cinema and with numerous guests and students from all over the world live in Munich. "My team and I have learned a lot from this online edition and it's great to see that you can also reach people sitting in front of their computers at home with special content, but it has become equally clear to us that no video conference can replace a face-to-face encounter."
