The Verwertungsgesellschaft der Film- und Fernsehproduzenten mbH (VFF) was founded in 1979 by the Bundesverband Deutscher Fernsehproduzenten e.V., the federal association of German television producers. As a copyright management agency, the VFF is tasked with administering the royalty claims for in-house and commissioned productions in Germany.

More than 30 years ago, the VFF launched the VFF Young Talent Award to appropriately honor the Best University Production screened at FILMSCHOOLFEST MUNICH. For the VFF, the promotion of young producers is a core concern. In addition to scholarships and continuing education programs in the field of production management, the VFF is keen to highlight the special achievements of producers. Young filmmakers often struggle with a shortage of funds, and prizes can be a special incentive here.

The importance of ancillary copyright in the overall field of film production is worthy of recognition and we are grateful that events such as the FILMSCHOOLFEST MUNICH provide an appropriate platform for producer awards.
