Interview with director Aung Htet Myet

Meet the Filmmakers: ANGRY FOLKS

Director Aung Htet Myet

What is your favorite movie quote?

"Today the sky's so blue, and no pollution! Thanks to all the rain yesterday" – PARASITE (2019)

What film would you most like to make a sequel of?

I don’t think I have any idea right now.

What has been the strangest thing you’ve experienced at a film festival so far?

As I step into the festival entrance, I always feel energetic at seeing all the filmmakers and film enthusiasts with their different backgrounds. I also feel excited about the films I am going to see. Sometimes I have the chance to talk with inspiring filmmakers from all over the world. I feel motivated for my future films as well.

A new TV series about studying film needs a title. What title would you choose?

"Let's Keep on Rolling".

What would you be if you weren’t a filmmaker?

I think I would be a musician or a graphic designer; I am still working in these jobs since there are still a few more steps I need to take to become a professional filmmaker.

Which person from the film industry would you most like to have a beer with?

Mike Flanagan.

What was the first film you saw in a movie theater?

I don’t remember exactly, but it was a Burmese film in black and white. I don't remember the title since I was only a little kid at that time.
