Interview with director Mariella Santibáñez

Meet the Filmmakers: THE PROCEDURE

Director Mariella Santibáñez

Where does the inspiration for your film THE PROCEDURE come from?

I’ve studied for one year at the Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires. The story of my protagonist Anita is based on a true story that I experienced while I was applying for a student visa at the migration office in Argentina.

Which three people from film and television would you like to spend an evening with? Why? And what are you doing?

I would like to go to a Karaoke Bar with Martin Scorsese, Susanne Bier and Steven Spielberg - the best place to get to know someone.

What's your favorite film quote?

"A lawyer with his briefcase can steal more than a hundred men with guns" (Don Corleone in THE GODFATHER)

For which film would you like to shoot the sequel?

What is your favourite film - officially and secretly?

Keyword "Munich". What comes to your mind first?

A city that likes to go to bed early - even on a friday or saturday night.
