Meet the Filmmakers: PURA VIDA
Interview with director Martin Gonda
Director Martin Gonda
Where does the inspiration for your film PURA VIDA come from?
It's a mix of childhood memories from a distant part of Slovakia known among the locals as a valley "where even those dusty roads end".
Which three people from film and television would you like to spend an evening with? Why? And what are you doing?
Only two: Werner Herzog and Oliver Zahlava. We're talking about ordinary things while playing live roulette.
What is your favourite film - officially and secretly?
I really don't have one favourite film, but secretly probably MEMORIES OF MURDER.
What was your favorite film festival experience so far?
I have only little experience so far but certainly Cannes. On the other hand I also loved Arkadia ShortFest in Romania. (Black Sea, hot summer, good movies, great people and lots of stray dogs).
Keyword "Munich". What comes to your mind first?
Frauenkirche and of course Oktoberfest.
