Interview with director Daniel Appleby
Director Daniel Appleby
Write a one-sentence teaser text for your film WITH ALL THE WILL IN THE WORLD.
A reflection on history and loss as told by a city of shipbuilders.
Which film was the first to deeply impress you?
"Nebraska" by Alexander Payne. Although I didn't see it till I was 16, it was the first film to leave a truly lasting impression. It's a simple story, with huge amounts of emotion and beautiful landscapes.

If your film was an animal, what animal would it be?
What would you be if you weren’t a filmmaker?
An anthropologist. It shares the same qualities that I love about film; an interest with people and their societies.
Is this your first visit to Munich? What do you expect from the city and the festival?
This is my first visit to Munich, but my second time in Germany. I visited last year, and absolutely loved it! I'm really looking forward to meeting other filmmakers from around the world.
