Interview with director Vincent Förster

Meet the Filmmakers: SOME OF THESE DAYS

Director Vincent Förster

Write a one-sentence teaser text for your film SOME OF THESE DAYS.

SOME OF THESE DAYS is a comedy documentary about jazz and dictatorships.

Which film was the first to deeply impress you?

The Canadian film "C'est pas moi, je le jure" ("It's Not Me, I Swear") by Philippe Falardeau. It's about a 10-year-old boy who comes up with the most amazing ideas of how to deal with the heartache over his mum leaving the family. Like, falling in love with the girl he dislikes most. It's very absurd, really funny and totally heartbreaking.

If your film was an animal, what animal would it be?

A sloth maybe...?

What do your grandparents think you do as a job?

They're not sure. They also tend to forget. But filming them definitely won't pay the bills, that's clear, who would be interested in that. I get away with being a student.

Behind the scenes of SOME OF THESE DAYS

What would you be if you weren’t a filmmaker?

I'd work in festival programming (which I do, to pay the bills).
