Write a one-sentence teaser text for your film DON'T KNOCK.
Solanlli Lozano(SL) & Karen Albarracín (KA): You can’t fight fire with fire.
Which film was the first to deeply impress you?
SL: In my childhood I saw "Innocence" by Lucile Hadzihalilovic, in the final scene there’s a girl playing in a water fountain, I remember that image until this day.
KA: When I was 8 years old, the VHS in my house were seperated into two groups, so there were films for children and films for adults. An afternoon I was alone and I saw "Amelie", a title that intrigued me… Obviously it was in the group of films that I shouldn’t see. Everything was going very well until I saw a sequence of naked women and men screaming, sweating, crying and moaning. I will never forget that scene.
If your film was an animal, what animal would it be?
SL & KA: A Bull Terrier dog

What do your grandparents think you do as a job?
SL: I only have one grandmother. She lives in the countryside, doesn’t know much about filmmaking. When I visit her I usually record her, even though she doesn’t know what I do exactly and I like it that way. I think for her I’m just a girl with a camera.
KA: I live with my grandparents, they have accompanied me for a while in my academic training, over the months they understood my passion for telling stories, what really confuses them is how I can disappear for many days making a film that will only last 5 minutes.
Is this your first visit to Munich? What do you expect from the city and the festival?
SL: It’s the first time that I travel outside of my home country. I'm curious about how this experience will be, I hope to discover a new vision. Capture moments.
KA: It's my first time in Munich. The movies have brought me closer to the cultural diversity of the world. My profession connects me with you, so I hope to return with a feeling of not wanting to stop making movies.
