Meet the Filmmakers: MR. UNIVERSE
Interview with director Nimrod Itkin
Director Nimrod Itkin
Describe your film MR. UNIVERSE in three words.
Driver, Drinker, Romantic.
Which film was the first to deeply impress you?
The first movie of BATMAN, it was the end of the eighties. I was deeply impressed, mainly because it was the first time I saw an unanimated film in the cinema. But the first movie that really made me want to create movies was THE SHINING. Both of them with Jack Nicholson, my favorite actor by far.
Which actor or actress would you love to work with and why?
I would love to work with Danny DeVito. I think his look with the ability of making people laugh creates the versatility of the characters he plays. He seems like a fun and funny guy to work with.

Is this your first visit to Munich? What do you expect from the festival?
Yes, it’s my first time here in Munich. I’m looking for my natural awakening, going out to drink beers and eat bacon, and then, of course, to go and watch movies.
