Meet the Filmmakers: MAMMA

Interview with director Julia Lindström

Director Julia Lindström

Describe your film MAMMA in three words.

Dark, colorful realism.

Which film was the first to deeply impress you?

FISH TANK.

Which actor or actress would you love to work with and why?

I often work with amateurs so I don’t know these great actors yet. But I would also love to work with Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Winslet, Kirsten Dunst, Julianne Moore because of their female power. And if she were alive, Brittany Murphy, my personal favorite. And Britney Spears. In the film of her life.

If your film was an animal, what animal would it be?

A wolf or a panda. I would like to be a panda but I guess I act more like a wolf.

What would you be if you weren’t a filmmaker?

Writer and photographer. Or an actor. I really love to act. But if you put all of these three things together, I guess you still make film.

Is this your first visit to Munich? What do you expect from the festival?

Yes, this is my first time. I expect to see a lot of nice people and a lot of great films. A good party.
