Interview with directors Sylvain Cruiziat & Mila Zhluktenko

Meet the Filmmakers: FIND FIX FINISH

Directors Sylvain Cruiziat & Mila Zhluktenko

Describe your film FIND FIX FINISH in three words.

Sylvain Cruiziat (SC) & Mila Zhluktenko (MZ): Find Fix Finish.

Which film was the first to deeply impress you?

SC: CODE INCONNU: RÉCIT INCOMPLET DE DIVERS VOYAGES. Although this might not have been the first film that deeply impressed me, it is one that stayed with me and one that serves as an inspiration for all my films. I love how Haneke manages to pull his viewer into the scenes, to an extent, at which we become eyewitnesses.

MZ: PULP FICTION. I watched it when I was ten years old and didn’t understand it really. I also didn’t know the title. When I re-watched it later it felt like a childhood memory.

Which actor or actress would you love to work with and why?

SC: I have a crush on Rosamund Pike. So the "why?" should be selfexplanatory.

M: John Malkovich.

What do your grandparents think you do as a job?

SC: My grandparents seem to think, that I am enrolled in a conventional course at university. They always wish me good luck for non-existent exams.

MZ: My grandmother was a public information film director in the Soviet Union. She thinks I am shooting on 35mm.

What would you be if you weren’t a filmmaker?

SC: I’ve never given it any thought.

MZ: I would be a doctor and listen to my patients.

Is this your first visit to Munich? What do you expect from the festival?

SC & MZ: As we are both studying at the University of Television and Film Munich and have attended all the Filmschoolfest editions and parties, we are excited to participate in this years competition and to meet the audience as directors.
