Meet the Filmmakers: DILAPIDATED

Interview with director Ole Sebastian Kåss

Meet the Filmmakers: DILAPIDATED

Director Ole Sebastian Kåss

Describe your film DILAPIDATED in three words.

Cold, dark and colorful.

Which film was the first to deeply impress you?

Difficult question. Many films come to mind. When I was a kid I was obsessed with Peter Jacksons Lord of The Rings THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING. I watched it on VHS over and over again every day after school. It was kind of unhealthy. The next film that really shook me up was Thomas Vinterbergs FESTEN (THE CELEBRATION). The acting and the rawness of the film blew me away.

Which actor or actress would you love to work with and why?

Laia Costa. Her performance in Sebastian Schippers film VICTORIA was amazing. I would love to have the chance to work with her.

If your film was an animal, what animal would it be?

Easy. A trapped fox.

Astronaut.

What would you be if you weren’t a filmmaker?

Architect.

Is this your first visit to Munich? What do you expect from the festival?

It's my first time. I expect great things to happen. A lot of good films, cool people, crazy partys, a lot of beer, food and good times!
