Meet the Filmmakers: CHESTER

Director Shaun Swift

Describe your film CHESTER in one sentence.

A squirrel man meets a curious girl, who helps him start to overcome his social anxiety.

If your film was an animal, what animal would it be?

A squirrel.

Which filmmaker would you like to have a beer with?

John Carpenter

What was the first film you remember seeing at a movie theater?

The first film I remember seeing in a theatre was "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" (1988).

Which film deserved an Oscar but didn’t get one?

Lots…but I always thought "Copland" with Sylvester Stallone deserved some award recognition. A wonderful crime drama with Stallone's best film performance I think.

What would you be if you weren’t a filmmaker?

If I weren't a filmmaker, I'd be a personal trainer. I love to workout and seeing people accomplish their goals, so I think I'd enjoy that.

Is this your first visit to Munich? What do you expect from the festival?

This will be my first trip to Munich. I'm excited to experience the film festival, meet a lot of talented filmmakers and hopefully enjoy the culture and food of the city.
