Meet the Filmmakers: STORY OF AN OBJECT
Interview with director Carlota Castells Puig
Director Carlota Castells Puig
What is the teaser text for your film STORY OF AN OBJECT?
STORY OF AN OBJECT is the story of an object, a story about subjectivity and introspection of people. The film portrays the conflict between two friends after the disappearance of an object. Given the premise that an object is dependent on the subject that perceives it, the story reveals two versions of the story of one object according to two different subjects - two friends.
What is the original idea of your film – how did it all start?
It came from analysing some people I had around me, how they experienced the world in such a different way from what I considered it "really" was.
Behind the Scenes: STORY OF AN OBJECT
What was your highlight during the process of filmmaking?
Probably the location scouting and art direction, to be able to create this world based on symbolisms.
If you weren't a filmmaker, you'd be…?
I really don't know. Maybe a photographer, a graphic designer... or a cook.
Is it your first time in Munich? What do you expect of the city and the festival?
It is. I have been in Berlin before, but never in Munich. I'm very excited to get to know the city, its atmosphere and I'm looking forward to meet other filmmakers and see their films.
