Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film
The HFF München was founded in 1966. As of August 2011 it is located in a building in the middle of Munich's museum district, on Bernd-Eichinger-Platz. Doris Dörrie, Bernd Eichinger, Roland Emmerich, Dominik Graf, Florian Gallenberger, Caroline Link, Katja von Garnier, Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck and Wim Wenders are just a few of the many renowned alumni. The HFF München trains feature film directors and documentary filmmakers, producers, screenwriters and cinematographers. Mandatory for all students are the courses in Media Studies and Technology. Additional fields of specialization are TV journalism, commercials and creative writing as well as a supplementary course in theater, movie and TV criticism.
