Zürcher Hochschule der Künste
Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) is a vibrant centre for teaching, research, and production excellence in Switzerland. It offers a broad range of degree programmes and further education courses in education, design, film, art & media, dance, theatre, and music and provides an ideal setting for transdisciplinary projects. Its Department of Performing Arts and Film educates young adults who are aiming to make their own films and gain a foothold in the film and television industry.
Bachelor of Arts in Film: The ZHdK BA in Film builds the practical and theoretical foundations of filmmaking. Coursework is designed to support students in developing their own voice. It aims to promote a professional approach to form and content, to nurture critical reflection on the making and reception of films, and to qualify students for auxiliary roles in one of the principal areas of filmmaking (directing, camera, editing, sound).
Master of Arts in Film: The ZHdK MA in Film enables students to work out their own creative solutions in developing and realising individual film projects. Coursework builds on undergraduate studies and focuses on further deepening the skills needed for making feature films and documentaries.
Coursework offers students the opportunity to work on feature films and documentaries as part of a team and under realistic conditions.
