DOOSRA
Vinoth, a young asylum-seeker from Sri Lanka, has been living in Switzerland for a year. Every morning, he drives a truck through Lausanne, delivering bread. In the evenings, he sits at home alone. To combat his loneliness, he is looking for a place to do volunteer work, so that he can help others and make new friends at the same time.

Meet the director

Keerthigan Sivakumar
Keerthigan Sivakumar came to Switzerland in 2009 as a Tamil refugee from Sri Lanka. He studied visual communication and film at Lausanne’s two universities, ERACOM and ECAL. His graduation film, DOOSRA, received the Upcoming Talent Award at the Solothurn Film Festival and the Audience Award for best student film at the Premiers Plans d’Anger. The film was also nominated for best graduation film at the Swiss Film Awards.
