Nicolas Jimy Awashish
Nicolas Jimy Awashish was born in Opitciwan, a First Nations reserve in Quebec, Canada. He is passionate about photography, music, and crafts, and loves to wander around his community to take pictures. KANOCKATONANOK is Awashish’s fifth project with the Wapikoni Mobile collective, but the very first film he has directed. Wapikoni Mobile supports young filmmakers from indigenous regions.
