The film received the bronze medal in the Narrative/Domestic Film Schools section at the Student Academy Awards 2021.

Meet the director
Kristi Hoi
Kristi Hoi is a writer, director and artist from Los Angeles. She completed the master’s program in directing at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. Previously, she studied art at Savannah College of Art and Design. Her work explores themes of duality, family and identity. Her recent film NO LAW, NO HEAVEN was nominated for the 2021 GSA BAFTA Student Award and received the 2020 IFP Gotham Award.
