PORTRAIT OF A WOMAN
In crimson brushstrokes, the world passes by gently in the background. Standing amidst the stream of colors is a naked woman. Dancing in circles, she applies mascara and red lipstick, submitting to the common ideals of beauty. But her doubts about this are growing. More and more of the red disappears, and dark blue finds its way into the images. Will the woman be able to free herself from social constraints? In an associative frenzy of color, underscored by delicate music for strings, this animated film interprets a poem by Nobel laureate Wisława Szymborska which is recited off-screen.
