I WAS ATTACKED
This film uses animation to render visible the experiences of countless women from all over the world who have been affected by sexualized violence. Specific situations are portrayed, but the main focus is on what happens inside: the fear, the trauma, the feeling of powerlessness and helplessness that doesn’t end with the crime, but that is perpetuated by offenders who go unpunished and authorities who don’t take action.

Meet the director
Sara Massieu
Sara Massieu from Mexico uses photography, graphic design and illustration as a means of expression. She is interested in projects relating to social justice, climate change, human rights, culture, and diversity. She holds a master’s degree in animation from the London College of Communication as well as a photography diploma from the Escuela Activa de Fotografía and a degree in graphic design from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.
