HUMAN BEING, BEING HUMAN
Until recently, Malta was the last country in the European Union to ban abortion under all circumstances. This documentary captures the mood in the ultraconservative island state and lets proponents and opponents have their say. While a gynecologist considers it her duty to help women to have abortions, it is mainly deeply religious, older Maltese who regard the practice as infanticide. But things are starting to change. More and more young people are advocating a right to abortion. Recently, abortions have at least been allowed if the woman’s life is in serious danger.
