THE BOY
Avinoam and Barak, father and son on a kibbutz near the Gaza Strip, farm their fields without saying a lot. While Avinoam goes about his work routinely and steadfastly, Barak’s gaze keeps wandering over to the other side of the gigantic barbed-wire fence. This film depicts this (generational) conflict in images that are emphatically calm, but beneath the surface it is seething and the situation threatens to escalate.
