Meet the Filmmakers: PROSEFHI: GREEK SCHOOL PRAYER

Regisseur Thanasis Neofotistos

What is the teaser text for your film PROSEFHI: GREEK SCHOOL PRAYER?

Two high school students. While seeking their identity, through violence, they will inevitably test each other’s boundaries.

What is the original idea of your film – how did it all start?

Filmmaking, for me personally, derives from a need to express myself. The idea for this film was based on personal experiences I had when I was at the age of my protagonists. From things I saw and from things I lived.

What was your highlight during the process of filmmaking?

The most intriguing and simultaneously the most rewarding moment during the process of filmmaking was the day I had to coordinate 120 children for the scene of the school prayer! And you know how children can be when they get hungry!

If you weren't a filmmaker, you'd be…?

...unhappy! Probably I would have followed the field I originally studied and I would be an Architect.

Is it your first time in Munich? What do you expect of the city and the festival?

Yes It’s my first time and I expect to meet a vivid, modern city with a youthful festival in which I hope to meet interesting people from the film industry.
