Meet the Filmmakers: DIGITAL IMMIGRANTS
Interview with the directors
Directors: Dennis Stauffer & Norbert Kottmann
Describe your film DIGITAL IMMIGRANTS in one sentence.
Dennis: A group of senior citizens trying to catch up with the digital age.
Norbert: The computer is still making people feel desperate in present days.
If your film was an animal, what animal would it be?
Dennis: A wise elephant, not knowing where it is.
Norbert: A cat - with an independent mind and impossible to train - just like a computer.
Which filmmaker would you like to have a beer with?
Dennis: With Ulrich Seidl, although not in a basement.
Norbert: With the Maysles brothers, if it was still possible. I am fascinated by Direct Cinema.
What was the first film you remember seeing at a movie theater?
Dennis: "Lion King"
Norbert: I can't remember - so it must have been a bad film.

Which film deserved an Oscar but didn’t get one?
Dennis: I'd love a documentary to finally be nominated and win as best film.
What would you be if you weren’t a filmmaker?
Dennis: Probably still locked up in some office building.
Norbert: A slave of computers.
Is this your first visit to Munich? What do you expect from the festival?
Dennis: I have never been to Munich. I'm looking forward to getting to know the city and other filmmakers.
