Szinház es Filmmüvészeti Egyetem, Budapest
The University of Drama, Film and Television, Budapest is the national centre for professional education and advanced training in Drama, Film and Television. The University is divided into the Faculty of Drama and the Faculty of Film and Television. Our school is an entirely state financed institution, with an approx. 100 students altogether at the Film and TV Faculty.
The final objectives of the Faculty is to develop the skills of students to the highest moral, artistic, creative and technical standards for leading roles in film and broadcast productions. Seminars and lectures are held by experienced industry professionals. The particular focus is on a more artistic, traditional training, based on hand on experience. We have 5-year degree programs and one 4-year course providing a university diploma, and 3-year programs as well, providing an academy diploma. Our aim is that by the time they finish their studies, our M.A. graduates should have shot ten end-term qualification works that serve as a firm background with respect to their technical skills and know-how, provide them with the necessary professional training and experience, and make up a portfolio they can start their professional career with. BA graduates study the technical and professional basics of the making of documentaries and short features. Their training also helps them avoid the threats of becoming limited in the scope of their professional vision, attitudes and everyday practice. The departments of the Film and TV education are: Directing, Cinematography, Producing and Editing, Television and Theoretical Studies. Within the Theoretical Studies we have a Master of Arts Course on Creative Writing and Scriptwriting. |
