HFF/M – Germany

The University of Television and Film Munich, Germany is oriented toward careers in film and television. Its goal is to give its students a profound understanding of audio visual medias. Theory and practice, and the development and production of a film are given equal emphasis. It offers the following fields of study: Feature Film and Television Feature, Film and Television Documentary, Production and Media Business. The Department of Feature Film and Television Feature and the Film and Television Documentary Department also offer specialised programs in Film Cinematography and Scriptwriting and Film Dramaturgy. Courses in Communications and Media Theory and Technique are mandatory for all students regardless of their major field of study. In-depth studies in adjunct departments are offered to all students: Applied Aesthetics, Image Composition and Cinematography, Creative Writing, Television Journalism, Advertising, PR and Image films as well as elective courses in production design and film criticism.
