Filmová a Televizní Fakulta, Akademie Múzickych Umení v Praze
Founded in 1946/47, FAMU is one of three faculties of the Academy of Performing Arts. The other schools are the Theater School and the Music School. The Film School is divided into 9 departments (still photography, feature cinema, documentary, screenwriting, cinematography, sound, animation and production) and a recent interdisciplinary department - the Center of Audiovisual Studies. Integral part of the school is the FAMU Studio, providing complete professional facilities from digital Betacam to 35mm film for student’s work. There are altogether 350 students in BA, MA and PhD study programs plus app. 80 international students, taking special study courses every year.
