The ÉCOLE DES MÉDIAS is UQAM’S in 2005 created new centre for media studies, succeeding to the formerly known Communications Department (Département des communications).
It belongs to a long tradition of film, television and interactive media training that has established UQAM as an important academic centre in this field, in Québec and Canada. Our programs are meant to provide practical training in conception, direction, cinematography and editing while at the same time they allow students to pursue a theoretical and critical reflection on the practices of media communication. New programs of film scoring, cultural production and film studies have also been created. The goal is to inspire our students and favour creative autonomy in their learning process. The Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. |
