| This year’s submissions: almost 250 films from 38 countries |

| The 29TH MUNICH INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF FILM SCHOOLS is right around the corner. From the 15th to the 21st of November, this internationally acclaimed festival will present the best films by young directors at the outset of their careers. Upcoming young directors from 38 countries have submitted 248 films and hope to be selected to participate in the competition. "The quality and diversity of the films submitted this year is particularly impressive", says Andreas Ströhl of the Internationale Münchner Filmwochen, the organization that holds the festival. "It’s a shame we can’t screen them all but we'll be screening the best." All of the leading European film schools have submitted films as well as many in the Americas, Asia and Australia. Of all the films submitted, only one out of five will be selected for competition by an independent selection committee. Those films, theatrical, documentary and animated, will be screened at the festival in Munich's Filmmuseum in November. |
